Poetry is a literary art commonly used for self expression, social activism, and political activism. In collaboration with Collis Governing Board’s Monday Microbrews, Pride’s poetry slam will be an opportunity for students to voice their beliefs and connect with the community around LGBTQIA+ issues and experiences. With a primary focus in educating students about the community’s history, this creates a full circle to our theme as we will be learning about the community through students, their roots and art.
