Central American Futurities Conference

  • Dartmouth College Hanover, NH, 03755 United States (map)

On April 11th-12th, 2025, the Central American United Student Association (CAUSA), will host Central American Futurities 2.0 at Dartmouth College. This symposium is a direct continuation of the first Futurities conference organized at Yale University in April 2024.

The goals of Central American Futurities 2.0 remain the same:

  • Bridge conversations between Central American diasporas and the isthmus;

  • Center Black and Indigenous isthmian knowledge-making and perspectives;

  • Gather a transnational community to reframe how the region (past/present/future) is imagined through scholarship, arts, and activism;

  • Highlight alternative mediums of education such as K-12 teaching, cultural mapping, social media, etc.

  • Construct an intellectual space that centers Central American arts, including poetry and performance

  • Foster Central American community and engagement, especially within the East Coast as Central American Studies continues to grow and develop.

  • *NEW* Platform up-and-coming scholars (current undergraduates/graduates), artists, and activists
